FT. FLORIDA ROAD UPDATE

GOOD NEWS:  the work on Ft. Florida Road is getting close to completion, and we expect the road to reopen by the end of January, beginning of February.

We appreciate all resident’s patience as we know this City of DeBary expansion project has been inconvenient.  While the Developer did offer to help fund traffic control measures at 17-92 and Barwick, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) said it was not allowed due to the volume and speed limit of 17-92.  It would not be a safe situation.  The option that was allowed was to adjust the Stoplight timing to make turns from Barwick easier.  While not ideal, it was the only option FDOT allowed.

Once the project is complete, this will allow better access from Rivington to 17-92 which will include a continuation of the bike trail which we hope everyone can enjoy.  Thank you again for your patience.
